We told him that marketing is marketing regardless of the industry; it all comes down to the strategy used. But he didn’t believe us.
So he hired two agencies: us and another agency.
He fired the other agency one week after we started 🙂

He hired an agency that was supposed to be experienced in the industry. They were running traffic campaigns for him and sold just one ticket in six days. 🙂 That was funny. Here is the proof.

Tracking Setup
Tracking is the most important thing to be able to make decisions. It’s fine to make mistakes, but if you’re not tracking everything, you won’t even know that you just made a mistake.
We created unique links for each and every source we invest in to measure the effectiveness of each source. This is the key to truly knowing the ROI of each activity.

Competition Audit
Our client didn’t have any historical data on his ads account. So we had to start from zero. But we played it smart. We identified all his competitors’ social media pages and then scraped all their followers to easily target them through different channels.

We got around 300k records with more than 50k emails scraped from people who would be interested in this festival and are already following other nightclubs and festival pages. This is interesting, as we will use them for custom audiences and email marketing.

That’s what happens when ads are done right.
Here are a few tricks we used:
- We created custom audiences from all the emails we scraped.
- We also created lookalike audiences from them.
- Not to mention the standard popular custom audiences, such as profile engagers, video viewers, and website visitors.

Email Marketing Strategy
We made an email strategy that will keep us top of mind all the time. Our tickets were being sold on Platinum List.
Our strategy involved sending emails in parallel with Platinum List. We used ActiveCampaign to send our emails, while Platinum List pushed notifications and emails to their existing users.

We got more than 50k potential buyers through this scraping exercise, and we sold a lot of tickets through email marketing.
Are we done here? Absolutely not, we’re just getting started.
What's App Broadcast
Remember the scraping exercise we did earlier? It included people’s phone numbers. Why don’t we leverage that to our advantage?
WhatsApp messages are very effective for various reasons.
- Everybody checks his What’s App on daily basis.
- Extremely high open rate.
- Very easy to target easy targeting
- Simple call to actions.


Guess what, we sold tons of tickets though What’s App Blast as well.
Organic Competition
We didn’t just rely on paid traffic; we also leveraged organic competition.
With this competition, we received thousands of comments, and in each comment, three people were tagged. These are more than 3k interested buyers, to whom we offered a discount if they didn’t win.


It’s not over yet!
PR Partnership
We didn’t stop there; we also worked on getting the event featured on the biggest Dubai city guide. That effort drove a lot of traffic as well.
